Diabetes Titration Protocol
Mounjaro follows the same titration as Zepbound. Week 1-4: 2.5mg once weekly (initiation, not therapeutic). Week 5-8: 5mg once weekly (first therapeutic dose). If additional glycemic control is needed, increase by 2.5mg every 4+ weeks through 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg, to a maximum of 15mg.
For diabetes management, many patients achieve adequate A1C control at 5mg or 10mg without reaching the maximum dose. Your provider should check A1C every 3 months and adjust dosing based on glycemic response and tolerability.
KwikPen Instructions
Mounjaro is delivered via the KwikPen, a pre-filled, disposable pen with a hidden needle. Each pen contains one dose. No mixing, no needle attachment, no visible needle. Place the clear base on your skin, unlock the purple button, press and hold for 10 seconds until you hear two clicks.
Store unused pens in the refrigerator (36-46°F). An in-use pen can be stored at room temperature (up to 86°F) for up to 21 days. Do not freeze or expose to direct sunlight.
